I’m excited to share a recent professional milestone: I’ve officially earned my Certified Radiology Nurse (CRN®)credential!
The CRN is a nationally recognized certification awarded by the Radiologic Nursing Certification Board (RNCB). It reflects advanced knowledge and expertise in radiology nursing, including diagnostic imaging, interventional procedures, contrast administration, and patient safety protocols. This achievement isn’t just a personal accomplishment—it directly enhances the quality of service I provide as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC).
Why Radiology Expertise Matters in Legal Cases
Imaging plays a central role in many types of litigation. CT scans, MRIs, and X-rays are often where critical evidence first appears—or where breakdowns in communication and care can occur. Attorneys rely on these records to build strong arguments, but without clinical interpretation, key details may be missed or misunderstood.
With my CRN credential, I bring a deeper level of clinical and procedural insight to every case involving imaging.
For Attorneys
If you’re handling cases involving any of the following, my expertise as a Certified Radiology Nurse can offer meaningful support:
Delayed or missed diagnoses on imaging studies
Injuries evaluated using radiology (motor vehicle crashes, falls, medical malpractice, etc.)
Contrast dye reactions or complications
Failure to follow imaging protocols or standards of care
Complications from interventional radiology procedures
I can review imaging-related records, explain technical findings, and help connect the dots between radiology and injury timelines.
For Fellow Legal Nurse Consultants
Radiology is a specialized field—often complex and filled with terminology, technology, and processes that aren’t always intuitive. As LNCs, we are trusted to bring clarity to the medical records we review. The CRN adds depth to our ability to:
Analyze imaging results with clinical accuracy
Spot deviations from radiologic standards of care
Assist attorneys with medical records that involve nuanced procedural imaging or interpretation errors
If you’re working on a case with heavy radiology involvement and want to collaborate or consult, I’m always open to supporting my LNC colleagues.
Final Thoughts
Earning the CRN has sharpened my ability to bridge the gap between radiologic evidence and legal interpretation. Whether you're an attorney building a case or an LNC navigating a complex file, I’m here to help translate what the images really show—and what they may be missing.
Let’s work together to ensure every image tells the whole story- one image at a time!
